When we watch a particular movie or a TV series or when we read a book, there is ought to be a character who will resemble our traits and mannerism in some way or the other. I’m a voracious reader and I also like to watch the characters in a sitcom or a movie. I particularly take interest in the characters that resembles me.
For me, I’d say I’m more like Barney Stinson of How I Met Your Mother fame played by Neil Patrick Harris on screen. As seen on the television series; he is witty, creative and has exhibited eloquence in all the episodes. He is somewhat metro-sexual who likes to care about his looks with extensive knowledge of designer labels and gourmet food. This is the only character I like because of its versatile nature, which is indeed my trait.
Some of the talents shared by both of us are; we speak multiple languages, like to design websites, have a good knowledge of video-editing and sound-editing, proficient with playing a musical instrument. But the best quality shared by both of us is that we thoroughly understand the human behavior and manipulate situations according to our advantage.
The character is full of energy and enthusiasm and likes to take challenges. The challenges might be big or small but the want to complete them is what makes us unique from the rest of the world. Even though being such a strong personality, Barney has an extreme fear of spiders. I don’t have Arachnophobia but I’m Claustrophobic.
Barney loves sci-fi movies and characters, and so do I. His all time favorite sci-fi movie is Star Wars, which happens to be my favorite movie too. He likes to make up new words by combining two words to enhance the meaning of the sentence. He likes the rock group, AC/DC. I’m a metal head too and my favorite AC/DC song is TNT. Barney’s most important trait is that he uses catchphrases which I always do with my friends.
In almost every episode, Barney is portrayed as a flamboyant Casanova but he does have a soft and generous side for the people he loves. Like the sitcom character, I’ve always hid my good side from my friends and helped them diplomatically whenever they need me.
All these qualities make me a unique character in my day to day life. We say that movies are inspired from real life but sometimes we are inspired from the fictional characters which we love to watch. I always make a point to take the good qualities and drain away the bad ones from the characters that inspires me in real life.
